Captain BJ Meyer

Captain BJ Meyer was born and raised in Marathon, FL — a second-generation fisherman with 35+ years of experience in the Florida Keys.

Right out of high school, BJ skipped the traditional path and went straight to fishing. He started tournament fishing, became a private captain, and at one point ran 3-4 boats at Keith Fishery for charters. After a break from chartering, he restarted last year in a new area — and has been booked every single day since.

A multi-tournament winner and fly-fishing expert, BJ's proudest moment came in 2018 when he set the Florida State record for most sailfish caught in Florida. He's known for going hard for sailfish — catching 10, 20 in a trip isn't unusual.

When he's not on the water, BJ runs a commercial stone crab and lobster operation and is exploring a sister company to expand those sales. He stays up late studying tides, wind, and calling around to find where the fish are — all to make sure he fills the box and gives the best experience the next day.
