Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this charter

What’s the best time of year to fish in the Florida Keys?

There’s something worth chasing year-round. Different seasons bring different opportunities, so if you have a certain fish on your bucket list, let us know. If you’re flexible, we’ll point you toward what’s best during your stay.

Can we keep the fish we catch?

When the species, season, and regulations allow it, absolutely. Captain BJ will make sure everything kept is within current regulations and can help you understand what’s coming home for dinner and what gets released.

What if we don’t know what kind of fishing we want to do?

No problem—that’s what Captain BJ is here for. Tell us what kind of experience you’re looking for and we’ll take it from there. Based on the season, weather, conditions, and what’s biting, BJ can recommend the best option for your crew and build the day around.

Is a longer charter really worth it?

It can make a big difference. More time means more water to cover, more options to explore, and more flexibility to follow the bite. Fishing can change throughout the day, and a longer charter gives Captain BJ the time to adjust, make another move, or go the extra distance when there’s an opportunity worth chasing. however, a shorter day can still be incredible.

What should we bring?

Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, comfortable clothing, food and drinks for your crew, and anything else you’d like for the day. PLEASE bring shoes to fish in. We’ll take care of the fishing side.
