Silent Hunter is in the running!
We enjoyed competing in the 26th Annual Cheeca Lodge Presidential Sailfish Tournament. This year, with a board that looks this good, Silent Hunter is all set to bring in a Gold Cup. We’re excited to watch the official results Thursday!
Every January, sailfish hunters gather to watch, chase and catch the graceful and elegant beauties as their season peaks through early winter. These irridescent acrobats bound across the water using their tails and twist and turn to offer zealous anglers the fight of their lives.
Practicing Conservation and Competition
Competitive sport fishermen travel from far and wide to spend two days fighting the glorious sailfish to bring home cash prizes, incredible tropies and bragging rights allowed to anyone who comes away a winner.
Firm believers in protecting the sailfish, Cheeca fishermen must practice conservation and care by only using circle hooks and releasing all sailfish caught during the tournament.
The Gold Cup
Through the years, Cheeca’s Presidential Tournament has developed into one of the largest and most sought out sailfish tournaments in the Florida Keys. On January 20-21, 2016, the second part of the Florida Keys Gold Cup Sailfish Championship concludes with the Islamorada Fishing Club Sailfish Tournament. The Gold Cup Championship holds a $25,000 cash prize for the each winner.
We’ll let you know winners as soon as we do!
